LEPER CARE

Amenyo Foundation has financially supported improvements and the provision of supplies for the Schoonhoven cured leper village in Ho, Ghana. Because of the fear of leprosy, the residents can not go home even though they are not contagious. Obtaining employment by the lepers is difficult. Due to the efforts of Amenyo Foundation and Togbe Kotoku XI, the colony facilities have been improved and the residents can live there with more dignity.

Specific Projects

Provide Equipment and Supplies

People travelling with Amenyo Foundation have taken medical supplies to Schoonhoven Village. From time to time sewing machines are taken from the USA so that people can sew items to be sold such as the bags pictured above. The Foundation has purchased assistive devices such as crutches and wheel chairs which are badly needed to help many residents deal with the ravages of leprosy.

Emergency Repairs, Payment of Bills, and Food Supplies

On occasion, Amenyo Foundation has paid for water pump repairs, payment of village bills, as well as delivering food items while Amenyo Foundation trips are there.
