2018 Amenyo Trip to Ghana

The Christensens lead a group of fifteen people to Ghana during September of 2018. 43 fifty pound suitcases full of donated school and medical supplies were taken to Kpenoe and Ho. The group was able to meet with many of the students being sponsored by Amenyo Foundation.

One of the advantages to going to Ghana in person is to be able to patronize various businesses run by friends of Amenyo. Among them are Irene who makes Ghanaian shirts and dresses, Paul a Kente cloth weaver, Crafty, an artisan in many media, and various batik cloth businesses.

Many yards of batik fabric were brought back to the United States to be made by The Batik Boutique into products such as bags, purses, and small items which are then sold with the proceeds going directly back to Ghana to help fund Amenyo Foundation scholarships.

The group continued the personal connection to the chief, elders and the villagers of Kpenoe which enables the work of Amenyo Foundation to continue in a most meaningful way.
