Medical Team with Amenyo Receives Thanks from Klefe, Ghana

The following is a letter received by the head of a medical team that went to Ghana in April 2019 with Amenyo Foundation.

Dear Shirley,

On behalf of the Staff of Klefe Health Centre,Community Health Committee,Klefe and on my own behalf, I wish to express my profound gratitude to you and your entire team(Amenyo Foundation) for visiting us in April and the items you donated to us.We also received the white screen from  Ida Foti.I wish to say that these items are helping us greatly in the delivery of quality health care to the people of Klefe  and its environs.

It's refreshing to know that you have tentative plans to visit Ghana once again come May,2020 and the cadre of healthcare workers you intend to come with.

We would be glad to see you and spend time together so that we can learn from you and share ideas that will go a long way in enhancing service delivery to our cherished clients.

I will provide the list of things (supplies) that we need as a facility as we get closer. We look forward to seeing you and your other colleagues soon.

May the blessings of God continue to rest upon all of you for the good works you are doing.

Once again, thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Albert

Amenyo Foundation Has Been Invited to Participate in a New and Exciting Mission

Great News!

In April, our president and another member of our Board will travel to Ghana in company with three medical professionals: two Medical Doctors and a Registered Nurse.  Lasting a little more than a week, the purpose of the trip will be to explore ways in years to come Amenyo Foundation, in cooperation with members of the medical community from the United States, can work with Ghanaian counterparts to positively address medical needs in Ghana.  This year's trip will be primarily a fact finding journey with the expectation of:

  1.  establishing contacts,

  2. understanding Ghanaian needs,

  3. exploring the possibility and potential for future engagements,

  4. assessing what areas of health delivery can best benefit from such a partnership should such a future engagement prove feasible and desirable.

Assuming a positive outcome from this visit, already plans are being made to involve students and faculty from a nearby nursing college in future travel to Ghana.

Amenyo Foundation is very excited about developing this new effort to fulfill our charter of "facilitating cross-cultural purposes including community development, health resources and academic scholarship."

University Students Placed in Kpenoe Schools

14 government service students have recently been placed in Kpenoe to work in the schools. The village needed to supply plastic chairs and table for their work. In response to a request from Togbe (Chief) Kotoku XI, Amenyo Foundation provided funds for the purchase of the chairs and the hiring of a village carpenter to build the table. The University students will allow the Kpenoe students to receive much more personal attention than they can get from one teacher in a class of 30 students.
